To remove the key, you take off the steering wheel covers. Underneath, there is a red tab to push in. Push in the red tab and remove key. Fuel cut off is your next problem. ok here is 122,000 km of driving expeience with the fiat 500 speaking. there are 3 warnings on the fiat 500 for low fuel. 1st. low fuel light. this means you have about 100 kms left. happens when tank goes below a quarter. 2. low fuel beep. this is the tank going below 1/8th. about 50 kms or so left.

Easiest thing to do is check for fuel and sparks. Fuel is an easy one just disconnect the fuel line where the rubber pipe from the tank joins the injector rail (be sure you don't have the return pipe). Fuel may spray out so don't get your face right next to it. Stick the end in an empty jar and just turn the engine over for a few seconds.

Currently have a 2015 500s that is throwing up ESC unavailable and Hill Holder unavailable. Car drives absolutely fine however. Interestingly plugged into the computer at my local Indy today showed torque sensor code. BUT power steering is absolutely fine. There are no issues with the power steering or indeed lack of power steering.
Make sure it is fully charged and have them do a load test. I bought a new one that was defective, about 20 years ago. When load tested, they found it had about half the power it should have had. (Basically, it acted like it was an old battery though it was shiny new.) There could be some corrosion in wiring.
